Canes Start Preseason By Topping Capitals In OT, 2-1


The Hurricanes traveled to Washington to start off their preseason and ended up with a 2-1 win in overtime.  Justin Faulk got the game-winner with a shot from the point on the powerplay.

Eddie Lack was scheduled to play two periods and did very well when he played.  He made 16 saves on the 16 shots he faced.  Alex Nedeljkovic finished out the game and allowed one goal on 10 shots.,game_state=final,game_tab=boxscore

Patrick Brown got the scoring started with a goal in the opening period and he led the team with five shots on goal.  Jordan Staal had four shots as did Jaccob Slavin.  Victor Staalberg and Faulk had a team high four hits.

The Hurricanes will have another group travel to Tampa Bay for a game on Tuesday night.

Preseason, yes, but sill beating Ovenchicken and the Craps feels really good.
